The Broadside Project is a collaboration between visual artists and poets to create a work of art incorporating both disciplines. There have been three rounds of this very popular program resulting in 18 different broadsides or posters featuring poetry and art. Artists and poets for the project have been very diverse. The ages of participants ranged from 10 to 80 and included many different cultures and orientations including gay and lesbian, transgendered, heterosexual, European-American, African-American, deaf and hard-of-hearing. The skill level was also diverse ranging from novice to professional. The teams worked closely with graphic and silk-screen artist Ricardo Levins Morales.
