Rosemarie K. Lester, a native of Berlin, Germany, received both an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has taught German language, literature and cultural history at various universities in the U.S. and abroad. In Frankfurt, Germany, she free-lanced as an editor, translator and radio journalist, interviewing such famous American personalities as Toni Morrison and Anna Halprin. Retired from the Department of Liberal Studies at UW-Madison, Dr. Lester founded The German Connection, a clearinghouse for German-American communication.
