Kitty

On my couch, a kitten sleeping,
and to her I'm slowly creeping.
It almost seems she's softly weeping,
and so I go to her.

I place my hand upon her hair,
petting her from here to there.
For no one else but her I care,
and now she starts to stir.

She moves from where she just was huddling,
and though I find it most befuddling.
It's with me, she now is cuddling.
She soon begins to purr.

Here she stays for the duration,
sending out a soft vibration.
Filling me with inspiration,
to always be with her.

"With you I will always stay",
to her, and no one else, I say.
She gets up and walks away.
But she'll return, I'm sure.
